The Muscogee (Creek) Nation Scholarship Foundation offers 26 scholarship opportunities for students enrolled in Post Secondary and Vocational-Technical Schools. Please click on the scholarships below to learn more.

Scholarship Application Instructions

The Scholarship Foundation Program is a competitive based scholarship program for Muscogee (Creek) citizens enrolled as full-time students at an accredited institution of higher education. Applicants are responsible for completing the application and providing all requested information and documentation in addition to following up. A letter will be sent to the applicant indicating receipt of your application. All applications are reviewed and selected by a Scholarship Committee of the Scholarship Foundation Program. All applicants are notified of scholarship status by mail at the conclusion of the selection process.

Application Requirements

  • Students must be a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation
  • Students can submit one application per student per semester
  • If you are applying for a restricted scholarship(s), see the requirements below
  • Students must submit a one-page, typed, a personal statement that includes career and educational goals, career choice, tribal and community involvement, and how this scholarship could affect their future

    • Must be a non-traditional student
  • A Second Chance Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must have been convicted of a felony
    • Must provide a letter of recommendation
    • Must provide proof of adoption, or a member of the armed forces
  • Checotah Casino Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must be a graduating senior from Checotah High School
  • Daniel/Dunzy Community Initiative Scholarship- $500
    • Must currently reside within MCN jurisdictional boundary
    • Must be contributing to charitable event/opportunities in tribal or local communities
    • Must provide essay and community service hours
  • ECKE ‘MVNOKECKV (A Mother’s Love) Scholarship – $1,500
    • Must be a single mother
  • Eunice Gene Smith Abbott Legacy Healthcare Scholarship – $2,000
    • Must be pursuing a career as a health care provider
  • Everlasting Crown Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must be a graduate student pursuing a Master’s Degree and/or Ph.D. in Social Sciences
    • Must be a parent or guardian
  • Fighting Cancer for Kat Scholarship – $500
    • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA
    • Must give a personal statement stating how cancer has affected the applicant’s life
  • Fostering Care Scholarship – $500
    • Must show proof that the student was a Ward of the Court for at least six months after the age of 13 and resided in out of home care placement
  • Gen1 Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must be a first-generation student
  • Guardians of Sovereignty (Female) Scholarship – $500
    • Must be a veteran, descendant of a veteran, or spouse of a veteran
  • Guardians of Sovereignty (Male) Scholarship – $500
    • Must be a veteran, descendant of a veteran, or spouse of a veteran
  • Health Systems Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must be pursuing a career in the healthcare field
  • Jackson Narcomey Scholarship – $500
    • Must be a currently enrolled as an Art major or related field
    • Must give a personal statement indicating how this scholarship will help the applicant complete his/her education and the type of medium used by the applicant
  • Lawrence and Rita Olson Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must be in the field of Natural Resources or closely related field
  • Lou Canard Navarro Scholarship – $1,000
    • Must be pursuing a degree in architecture, design, or engineering
    • Must provide an extra essay
    • Must participate in a grant interview if requested
  • Nathan Weaver – $1,000
    • Must have lost a parent prior to the age of 18 years old
  • Vtotketv Scholarship – $500
    • Must be enrolled in a certificate program

HOW DO I EARN POINTS?

Simply insert your card into any electronic game or present it to one of the dealers at any table game. All play is tracked by use of your card.

WHAT ARE TIER POINTS?

Tier point credits determine your tier level and are different from reward points which are redeemable for Rewards Play. There are four levels of membership: Amber, Sapphire, Turquoise and Onyx.

HOW DO I EARN TIER POINTS?

When you play your favorite electronic games and table games using your Connect card, you will be eligible to earn tier points which will unlock the next level of tier benefits. Tier points on electronic games earn at the rate of $1 played equals one tier point.

HOW MANY TIER POINTS DO I HAVE TO EARN FOR EACH LEVEL?

  • AMBER (Tier 1): 0-1,000
  • SAPPHIRE (Tier 2): 1,001-50,000
  • TURQUOISE (Tier 3): 50,001-300,000
  • ONYX (Tier 4): 300,001+

Your tier point balance will continue to accrue when you reach the next tier level as long as you advance within a qualifying six month period (January through June and July through December). You may advance one tier level at a time. If play decreases within the qualifying period, a new card will be issued base on your current tier level.

HOW LONG DO I ENJOY THE BENEFITS ONCE I REACH THE NEXT TIER LEVEL?

You have six months to enjoy the benefits of your new tier level. Card levels remain valid for each qualifying six month period (January through June and July through December).

HOW DO I CHECK MY TIER POINT BALANCE?

Your tier point balance can be easily accessed through any Rewards kiosk, on your favorite electronic game or at Players Club.

HOW DO I MAINTAIN MY CURRENT TIER LEVEL?

When you meet the point requirement to maintain your current status, your level will remain the same, your tier balance will reset to zero and you will have six months to maintain your current tier level or upgrade to the next level.

If you surpass the tier point requirement to reach the next tier level within the six month qualification period, you will be upgraded to the next highest tier, your tier point balance will reset to zero and your membership benefits will change to reflect your new level.

WHAT IF I DON’T EARN ENOUGH TIER POINTS TO MAINTAIN MY CURRENT LEVEL?

If you do not meet the tier point requirement to maintain your current level during a qualifying six month period, you will be issued a new card based on your current tier level, your tier point balance will reset to zero and your membership benefits will change to reflect your new level. You will then have six months to maintain or upgrade to the next tier level.

DO MY TIER POINTS EVER EXPIRE?

Yes. Points expire after 12 months of account inactivity.
